“Viridis” is Latin for "green". As such, Dissectum Viridis is not really a cultivar but a reference to any nameless green laceleaf maple, similar to how "atropurpureum" is today used for a nameless red maple.

The strongly cascading maple has the tendency to grow in a weeping dome-shaped tree. Very old trees (75y+) can reach up to 4m in height. What can be done is using a leader to guide your tree up in height. When it is at a desired height you let it just grow naturally in a weeping shape, giving it more height before it spreads its branches.

Viridis is an excellent choice for patio or pond-side plantings. It can cope with full sun.
