Acer palmatum Hyotei

Acer palmatum Hyotei is a very uncommon Japanese maple. It's not easy to find this unique beauty. Its leaves look a bit like Burgundy Lace, but in summer, they turn rich green. When the leaves first appear, they're a pretty reddish color with a touch of gray fuzz, then they become green as summer comes. In the fall, the leaves change to a nice mix of yellow and orange. You can see for yourself in the pictures. People are not sure how to spell its name correctly; some might say "Hyohtei."
